MTNL, Motorola Join Hands for First UMTS Network in India

MTNL (Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited), an India-based, government-owned telecom, and Motorola have entered an agreement, under which Motorola will help MTNL build India's first mobile phone network based on the 3G UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications Service) technology in Delhi and National Capital Region. Financial details concerning this agreement, involves network deployment and maintenance services, have not yet been released.
